Bug#526695: linux-image-2.6.26-2-xen-amd64: 64-Bit dom0 can't save/migrate 32-Bit domU
Package: linux-image-2.6.26-2-xen-amd64
Version: 2.6.26-15
Severity: normal
Using the linux kernel from xen.org it is possible to save/migrate a 32-bit
domU on a 64-bit dom0. With the lenny kernel it is not possible! The error
message in /var/log/xen/xend.log:
[2009-04-30 09:58:15 5118] INFO (XendCheckpoint:373) All memory is saved

To make it clear that it seems to be a issue with the dom0 kernel i've tested
a plain Debian 5.0 installation as dom0 (xen-linux-system-2.6.26-2-xen-amd64)
only with packages from Debian 5.0. Changing only the dom0 kernel to the
kernel from xen.org live migration is possible!
Another workaround is to use a 64-bit hypervisor on a 32-bit dom0
(http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-users/2008-12/msg00404.html).
