I was suffering the problem described in the linked thread and tested the supplied patches. The three original patches became two when they went upstream http://marc.info/?l=linux-nfs&m=123144978100629&w=2 I'm attaching my backported versions of these, I was actually using them with 2.6.26-10~bpo40+1 but I would expect they will be fine for the Lenny kernel too (and am just in the process of testing that). I applied them in this order: 0001-SUNRPC-Ensure-the-server-closes-sockets-in-a-timely.patch 0001-svc-Clean-up-deferred-requests-on-transport-destruc.patch debian-kernel: Shall I commit to the Lenny branch?
