Bug#515009: grep kernel /var/log/messages

Attached is the full kernel log from the Totem crash up to the reboot
(selinux is in permissive mode). It appears there are four different
backtraces, starting from

[<c01190e6>] hrtick_start_fair+0xeb/0x12c
[<c015688a>] sync_page+0x0/0x36
[<c01bc506>] avc_has_perm+0x3c/0x46
[<c02b831f>] schedule+0x63d/0x66f

As I had somewhat expected, it was impossible to perform a clean
shutdown. After shutting down X, I was left with a nonfunctioning
terminal. However the kernel still responded to magic SysRq, allowing me
to sync / remount ro / and reboot. However, the commands powerOff and
kIll had no effect. I could also confirm that the totem process was
still running.
