Package: linux-image-2.6.22-1-amd64
Version: 2.6.22-3
Severity: normal

Hello kernel developers,

After upgrading from 2.6.18-3 the shutting down sequence doesn't power off
the machine anymore. It does all what it's supposed to do until halting, but
the box remains powered on.

regards,

Tried with a custom build of 2.6.28-rc9 and problem was still reproducible,
then realized that, for some reason, the parameter "acpi=off" was being
added to new kernel entries in my menu.lst while original 2.6.18 lacked
it... removing this parameter fixed the problem with both 2.6.26 and
  2.6.28-rc9.

Thanks for your time and best regards,
