Bug#472462: linux-image-2.6.24-1-amd64: log cluttered with ide failed opcode for dvd drive



Yes, I can confirm that this bug still exist on lenny. This is using the latest 2.6.26-1-amd64 kernel. I am attaching the relevant information.

For me, the bug manifests itself when playing an audio cd. There is a constant buzzing noise and dmesg shows:

I believe the guilty party is the module jmicron, as evidenced by the post at http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=274632
Are there plans to use the module pata_jmicron instead?
