This patch has just been merged into linux-2.6 git.

However, this patch depends on the rework of tty handling, which will be
too intrusive to backport to 2.6.26. Since the UMTS card still functional
I'm afraid you'll have to live with the warnings until the Lenny-and-a-Half
kernels are released.
