This module is already loaded ! But I will test this command in case of this
module is loaded to early.

Yes, udev is running.

When I boot with 2.6.24.1, I've this message on boot :
waring: alsactl restore 0 failed with error message 'alsactl: set_control:
1269: failed to obtain info for control #38 (No such file or directory)'

Same message with #39.

Hope this helps you to solve the problem.
