The linux-wlan-ng code base is being merged into the regular Linux kernel
via the staging tree, see http://lwn.net/Articles/285594/ for an introduction.
You could offer your help, since they're typically in need of people who
own the actual hardware to test patches.

Report your findings to the maintainers of the orinoco driver, so that they
can add the ID to the kernel tree:
