*** Please type your report below this line ***
The ide-scsi module isn't used to access SCSI drives, but mkinitrd
generates initrd images that load it at boot time if the host system
has a newer kernel and an SCSI (or SATA) root partition.

The module is specifically removed from the list of SCSI modules on
older kernels, but this was apparently overlooked when the new kernel
support was added. If a system has been configured to use the ide-cd
interface to an IDE CD drive, this makes attempts to access the CD
drive mysteriously fail (which is how I discovered the bug in the first
place).

The below patch adds the filtering of the ide-scsi module and the other
specifically excluded modules from the older kernel detection code.

The initrd-tools package has been removed from Debian testing, unstable and
experimental, so I am now closing the bugs that were still opened
against it.

For more information about this package's removal, read
http://bugs.debian.org/393092 . That bug might give the reasons why
this package was removed, and suggestions of possible replacements.

Don't hesitate to reply to this mail if you have any question.

Thank you for your contribution to Debian.
