Bug#479018: additional information
localhost:~# file /boot/vm*
/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.18-6-686: Linux kernel x86 boot executable
RO-rootFS, swap_dev 0x1, Normal VGA
/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.24-1-686: Linux kernel x86 boot executable
RO-rootFS, root_dev 0x900, swap_dev 0x1, Normal VGA
/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.24-1-xen-686: gzip compressed data, was
"vmlinux-stripped", from Unix, last modified: Fri Apr 18 19:43:07
2008, max compression
I don't know a lot about this.. So, I tried:
localhost:/boot# mv vmlinuz-2.6.24-1-xen-686 vmlinuz-2.6.24-1-xen-686.gz
localhost:/boot# gunzip vmlinuz-2.6.24-1-xen-686.gz
localhost:/boot# file vmlinuz-2.6.24-1-xen-686
vmlinuz-2.6.24-1-xen-686: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386,
version 1 (SYSV), statically linked, stripped
Nope, still not the same as the other kernels, and not recognized by grub.
Hope this helps,
