I'd suggest that update-initramfs either ignores those obsolete but
still present sha1sums, or at least prints a warning.

At the very least update-initramfs should go on with newer kernels which
are present but don't have a sha1sum file stored. Currently it seems to
stop after trying all versions with a sha1sum file available.
