Package: linux-image-2.6.26-1-amd64
Version: 2.6.26-5
Severity: normal

Hello,

I have bought a closed source software (Maple 5.1 from 1999). Which needs to be
installed and started within a sarge i386 chroot environment.
When trying to start xmaple it gives the following message to stderr:
"Virtual memory exceeded in `new'"

But with linux image 2.6.24 from linux-image-2.6.24-etchnhalf.1-amd64 the program can be started.
So this seems to be a regression.

BTW: My machine crashed today, when I tried to start emacs. The last message
send by syslog to another one was:
Sep 26 19:10:54 acer-ilzleite kernel: [ 931.180957] Bad page state in process 'emacs22'
And then the machine needed to be shutdown.

Some postings in debian-user-german@lists.debian.org claimed that there were
some major changed in linux 2.6.26. So I report the 2 problems above.
(At least the first one is easiely to reproduce for me.)

Greetings
	Juergen

with the formulation you propose.
