Package: linux-image-2.6.18-4-686
Version: 2.6.18.dfsg.1-11

In the changelog of kernel v2.6.18-rc4 there is a bug fix described,
where recvfrom delivered only copies of previously received data instead
of the newly arrived data for a UDP socket (search for recvfrom in the
changelog). I experienced this bug in the above Debian kernel image. I
used asynchronous IO (using a signal handler for SIGIO). The problem was
not permanently present but most of the time. A downgrade to kernel
image 2.6.17-2 solved my problem.
