Hello,

I am having lots of trouble with my networking, I am using RTL-8139/8139C/8139C+ so this concerns 8139too or 8139cp(which by the way is not working at all). This has been an issue for quite a while, the last kernel version I can remember not having this issue was 2.6.18 right now I am using 2.6.25-2-686 (the result is the same with 2.6.24) . It is extremely slow cause lots of packages get droped, it's not even 10 Mbit anymore for downloading, uploading works fine. I will paste the output of cat /proc/net/dev

eth0:2430459920 1780526 76284 76284 76284 0 0 0 287300795 1386142 0 0 3 0 0 0

As you can see there must be a relation between the fifo and the errors since fifo , drop and errors are the same number. I am sure it is not an issue with cables or the switch since I tried lots of different hardware.

I will attach the output of lspci -vvv as a file as well as the output of lsmod. If there is any further information with wich I can help let me know.

Does this error still occur with more recent kernel versions?

Cheers,
        Moritz

Unfortunately yes. I tried with 2.6.26-1 and there is no change. It's still the same with errs drop fifo being the same number of packages.
