Bug#493540: linux-image-2.6.25-2-686-bigmem: fails to copy files/directories on USB storage media

FYI: For testing purposes, I’ve formatted the external USB-drive with EXT3 and, believe it or not, no problems whatsoever. After re-formatting the same drive with FAT32 and copying the very same directories and files onto the USB drive, again an error message is issued and the copy process fails.
Indeed, the problem seems to be somehow connected to the FAT32 driver of the kernel.
