When I shutdown after reporting the bug, the machine didn't shutdownsmoothly. It shutdown X11 and then just sat there with the tty0 textlogin screen. I logged in as root and tried issuing the "shutdown -hnow" command again to no avail. I ended up having to shut it offmanually with the hardware power switch.

A couple of days ago I had a similar situation where the machinewouldn't shutdown smoothly. Any suggestions?
