Bug#500265: linux-image-2.6.26-1-686: Hangs after an apparently random uptime (minutes)

For a couple of days I run my network connection over cable instead of
using the USB dongle. It seems that the system is much stabler
without the rt73usb module: I'm able to run 2.6.26 for much longer
time, but it may be a coincidence.

I'll try to disable the HPET as soon as I check that the problem is
repeatable (so that I can tell whether it is workarounding the HPET
that solves the problem).

I've attached the lspci -vv dump and the complete syslog for a fauly
session. Should it matter, the system stopped accepting any input as
soon as I started to watch a streaming video (that continued to
play).
