Version: 2.6.26-4
Severity: critical
Justification: causes serious data loss

Hi !

After latest upgrade, the kernel switched from 2.6.25-2 to 2.6.26-1. At reboot, 2 hard drives connected to the PCI Sil3112 SATA card
was not detected anymore. The module is correctly loaded but the devices are just not discovered.

If i boot back from the previous 2.6.25-686 kernel entry in grub, the disks are perfectly detected.

Please find below the previous 2.6.25-2-686 kern.log for debugging purpose and the automatically generated infos from the 2.6.26-686
kernel.

Feel free to ask any additionnal informations.

Thank you for consedering this issue.

Hi !

After latest update this morning, the disks are detected again.

The kernel package that fixed the issue is :
Package: linux-image-2.6.26-1-686
Version: 2.6.26-5

However, at reboot time, all the disks where not detected in the same order as before :
sda became sdc
sdb became sda
sdc became sdb

I had to modify fstab and grub boot options to be able to boot and mount volumes correcly.

The bug can be marked as done.

Thank you.
