Package: linux-tree-2.6.12
Version: 2.6.12-2
Severity: wishlist

please consider including a meta package for
  linux-tree-2.6
to pull in all upcoming versions of
  linux-tree-2.6.#
(and therefore
  linux-patch-debian-2.6.#
  linux-source-2.6.# )
as you are already doing with
  linux-headers-2.6-$$$
  linux-image-2.6-$$$ .

>From my personal point of view this would have the following advantages:
* Downloading the latest source is automated with a nightly cron
    apt-get --yes --download-only dist-upgrade

* If I'm srolling arround with my notebook, I always like to have the latest
kernel source on hd, i.e. to build a mppe-patched kernel, if required.
A linux-tree-2.6 meta package would simplify the preparation of my notebook
  for possible unconnected work.
