Package: linux-image-2.6.26-1-686
Version: 2.6.26-3
Severity: important

Since I installed 2.6.26 on this machine, I have booted several times,
and twice sound has been unusable. Any music I play, for instance,
sounds like it is playing far in the background against a foreground of
static and crackling. If I bring up kmix there appears to be TWO sound
cards:

* the correct one: Intel 82801CA-ICH3
* pcsp

The "pcsp" entry in kmix has only one channel I can adjust, called
"Master", which does seem to have an effect on sound level.

This part of the syslog seems suggestive:

[   16.108100] intel8x0_measure_ac97_clock: measured 52316 usecs
[   16.108107] intel8x0: clocking to 48000
[ 16.476297] Error: Driver 'pcspkr' is already registered, aborting...
