Bug#463653: Update: kernel messages of 2.6.18 xen vs non-xen
Update : the 2.6.18 does recognise the eeprom. However, the drivers seems to have trouble using the device :

The link goes up and down a couple of times. Doing a ifup/ifdown on the interface produces a "hardware failure" error.
