When loading one of these modules, i get "No such device".
Using speedstep_centrino with linux-image-2.6.18-3-686. With this
version it works fine.

you'd want a newer linux image for such a box.
either backports.org or etch + half has newer kernels.
they feature newer acpi with more features.
