Package: linux-image-2.6.22-3-686
Severity: important

Hello Maintainers,

I have installed @ a neighbourg Debian Etch on her Acer Aspire 7220 and
since Linux does not recognize the nVidia Ethernet, ALSA not the nVidia
Soundcard and Xorg not the GeForce7000M I have mirrored Lenny onto an
external HDD from my TP570 and now upgraded the Acer to Lenny...

While 2.6.18 from Etch was perfectly build, Linux 2.6.22-3-686 has build
a fault initrd and for example not detected the "sata_nv" and forgotten
it EVEN if it is in the current initrd from 2.6.18.

OK, I have added it to the modules file and rebuild the initrd for the
2.6.22 but after rebooting, I was landing in the initramfs.

/dev/root and etc/fstab are missing.

How can ths be?

OK, booting the Etch Kernel is working and now I have tared the whole
system and saved it on my external HDD.

Downloaded the Lenny DVD1 and tried to install Lenny from scratch.

The installation was perfectly but while rebooting, there is NO
"sata_nv".

OK, booted from my Rescue-USB-Key (Sid) and chrooted me into Lenny,
added the "sata_nv" to the module file and rebuild the initrd.

After reboot, I get the same error as before:

/dev/root and etc/fstab are missing.

I was searching the archive but found nothing related to it...

Are you aware of this Bug?

Since my neighbour need her Laptop, she has reinstalled her Vista
something which is...

Greetings
