Hi,

I get the same error message with ASUS A7K laptop.
I thought it was a bios issue and I upgraded to the lastest AMI bios provided by asus : A7KAS.206 which was updated last week !

Without parameters, the system hangs at boot time.
I had to specify at least nolapic and irqpoll.

I also added noapic. If I don't use this option the system is significantly slower.

Same happens for a 2.6.24 kernel in testing and a 2.6.25 versoin in unstable.
