Well, since you asked :) Can you test the etchnhalf kernel? Latest one is:
  http://http.us.debian.org/debian/pool/main/l/linux-2.6.24/linux-image-2.6.24-etchnhalf.1-686_2.6.24-6~etchnhalf.2_i386.deb
