Package: linux-image-2.6.18-3-xen-686
Version: 2.6.18-6
Severity: important

The blktab driver is disabled:

	CONFIG_XEN_BLKDEV_TAP is not set

in config-2.6.18-3-xen-686

Without these driver I must use the deprecated loopback-mounted
file-backed VBDs ... see point 6.2.1 of the XEN user.pdf.

adding the blktab driver would be a nice feature, but is pretty
significant according to xen maintainer and thus not suitable
for a stable release. also the blktap user tool is missing in Etch.

"For Lenny it will only become relevant when the paravirt_ops kernels
support domain 0, at that time it definitely makes sense to enable
blktap." - Ian Campbell

we always enable new drivers when they are merged upstream see
http://wiki.debian.org/DebianKernelPatchAcceptanceGuidelines
for more info

thanks for the report
