I have also installed up-to-date firmware as specified at linuxwireless.org: b43 -> 4.150.10.5 b43legacy -> 3.130.20.0 b43legacy doesn't do anything; the wireless device, wlan0, only appears when b43 is loaded. In any event, the kernel autoloader loads the right one automatically anyway. The standard linux-image packages do not build the old bcm43xx drivers, so I haven't tried those yet. -- Bhaskar
