Package:	linux-image-2.6.18-5-k7
Version:	2.6.18.dfsg.1-13etch4

The parport-driver is not functioning on my hardware, so the printer is
unusable under Debian. The details about the hardware are attached. To
find out since when the problem exists please take a look at bug
#381280. I sent some data there, but I am sure now, that the Problem has
nothing to do with cupsys, but with the kernel´s parport-driver. I had a
look at /usr/src/linux-source-2.6.18/Documentation/parport.txt and added
the line "options parport_pc io=0x378 irq=none"
to /etc/modprobe.d/arch/i386, but with little success. The printer was
detected correctly, but would not print. I also tried Kanotix, a live CD
which is based on Etch and has a Ubuntu-kernel 2.6.22., and this works.
