Package: linux-image-2.6.24-1-686
Version: 2.6.24-5
Severity: wishlist

Some filesystem allow translating filenames so that the filenames
retrieved from the kernel match a chosen locale and the filenames stored
on the media match the filesystem standard.

These include vfat, smbfs, cifs, ntfs, ncpfs.

The name and format of the mount option that sets the conversion varies
between filesystems, and even different versions of the same filesystem.

It sould not be too hard to provide an alias for the option that has the
same name and format for all filesystems.

Thanks

Michal

closing as not a debian bug.
