Bug#473075: linux-image-2.6.24-1-686: Won't boot, seems root fs not mounted
Hmm, uphill battle both ways,
I've noticed this type of behavior on Debian kernel since Sarge.
A new kernel will re-shuffle device order from SCSI being the sda/boot device
to SATA, while upgrading kernel-images. Now with Lenny, 2.6.24 I have the
same issue with LCD built-in USB card readers getting assigned sda/boot
device over AHCI SATA. The only solution is to figure out the devices
responsible for module load and manually modify the initramfs sequence.
