It does work, but there is currently no support for the versatile
platform in d-i. Therefore the solution is to use the initrd.gz from
another platform, which does not contain the necessary modules from
versatile.

The fix is to add support for the versatile platform to d-i, but
unfortunately I don't have enough time currently.
