Package: kernel-image-2.6.10-9-amd64-k8-smp Version: 2.6.10-2 I use 32-bit sid with an amd64 kernel. This set up works fine with 2.6.9-9 (2.6.9-4). Rebooting into 2.6.10-9 (2.6.10-2) caused a hard freeze once X got started, although there are no helpful log messages. I have a Radeon VE (7000) that I use with the Open Source drivers. I did notice one difference between 2.6.9 and 2.6.10: there're a bunch of ALSA errors in syslog. snd-ioctl32 is loaded out of /etc/modules. Perhaps the ALSA developers forgot to add in the appropriate translations? --- Feb 27 11:04:53 localhost kernel: ioctl32(alsactl:2628): Unknown cmd fd(3) cmd(c2c45513){02} arg(ffffd710) on /dev/snd/controlC0 Feb 27 11:04:53 localhost kernel: ioctl32(amixer:2632): Unknown cmd fd(3) cmd(c2c45512){02} arg(ffffd090) on /dev/snd/controlC0 --- Let me know if you need any more information. Version: 2.6.14-1 > Package: kernel-image-2.6.10-9-amd64-k8-smp most likely fixed since, no second submitter, thus closing.
