Bug#460192: tryed out trunk 2.6.24-rc7
Same the problem is present with:
2.6.24-rc7-686
2.6.23-1-686
2.6.22-3-686
2.6.22-4-generic (Ubuntu Gutsy kernel installed on Debian Lenny)
All works fine with:
2.6.24-3-generic (Ubuntu Hardy kernel installed on Debian Lenny)
Details of problem using 2.6.24-rc7-686:
If i boot the system with these four USB devices plugged lsusb shows all of
them:
Bus 004 Device 004: ID 08ec:0008 M-Systems Flash Disk Pioneers
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 003 Device 002: ID 04a5:20b0 Acer Peripherals Inc. (now BenQ Corp.) S2W
3300U/4300U
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 093a:2600 Pixart Imaging, Inc.
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 046d:c016 Logitech, Inc. M-UV69a Optical Wheel Mouse
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Now, i boot the system only with mouse plugged (Logitech, Inc. M-UV69a Optical
Wheel Mouse).
I plug "M-Systems Flash Disk Pioneers" and "Pixart Imaging, Inc." and and
lsusb does not show none of them.
But I plug "Acer Peripherals Inc. (now BenQ Corp.) S2W 3300U/4300U"it is
listed by lsusb, not all devices fail, new lsusb output:
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 003 Device 002: ID 04a5:20b0 Acer Peripherals Inc. (now BenQ Corp.) S2W
3300U/4300U
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 046d:c016 Logitech, Inc. M-UV69a Optical Wheel Mouse
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
If i unplug and plug any of two missing devices they are not listed.
As you can view, "Pixart Imaging, Inc" and "M-Systems Flash Disk Pioneers" are
missing when are plugged, but both devices seem to work, and its conection is
reported by dmesg.
I have two more devices that always are listed well by lsusb when hotplugged,
they are an HP Camera and Creative Zen V Plus MP4 player.
I have one more device that is not recognised by lsusb when i plug it with
system is booted, this is Saitek P880 Game Pad.
2.6.24-3-generic (Ubuntu Hardy kernel installed on Debian Lenny) all devices
are always well listed in lsusb conected at any time.
