Sorry, but I don't think that "use module-assistant" is enough to close
a bug which essentially says "kernel-package claims to be able to
compile modules, but either its documentation is wrong [my claim in the
original report], or the kernel and kernel-package do not cooperate
properly [manoj's opinion if I got him right]".  

I don't think that module-assistant is relevant at all here, and if it
is, then the bug would still not be solved (instead it would need to be
retitled to "let make-kpkg call module-assistant").

I'm currently on vacation, actually I can only read my e-mail on
weekends, where I also have other real-life things to do.  So don't be
surprised if you don't get answers from me for quite a while.
