Package: linux-image-2.6.15-1-k7
Version: 2.6.15-3
Severity: minor
Hello there.
I'm using ntfs kernel module to get access to some NTFS partitions. My
locale is 8bit koi8-r and some characters (in filenames) couldn't be
encoded into it. I got many warnigs from kernel like
NTFS-fs error (device hda7): ntfs_ucstonls(): Unicode name contains characters that cannot be converted to character set koi8-r. You might want to try to use the mount option nls=utf8.
NTFS-fs warning (device hda7): ntfs_filldir(): Skipping unrepresentable inode 0x130cc.
That's ok, I know about that staff, but logs are flooded.
I think it would be great if you add module option wich will allow to
suppress this warning.

closing as for a first no other fs has a quiet param
and secondly the information is ratelimited
and thirdly presents vital information.
-- NTFS upstream
Also I want the inode warning to remain because it allows people to
know which inode it is so they can go and fix it by renaming it
something else for example.
And the message does give the user a solution to the problem. Mount
with nls=utf8 mount option and you will not see those error messages
any more and everything will work just fine.
