Bug#415474: initramfs-tools: mkinitramfs fails with monolithic kernels

Package: initramfs-tools
Version: 0.89
Followup-For: Bug #415474

I'm having similar problems with this. I custom-build a kernel for my
border router machine, that has no loadable module support and uses
various grsec patches (e.g. to #ifdef-out /dev/mem and /dev/kmem
support), thus leaving no known holes in which kernel code can be
loaded. This has good security properties.

Having now attempted to migrate the router to LVM2, I find I can't,
because I am unable to build an initramfs to boot from.
