Package: linux-image-2.6-686 Version: 2.6.18+5 Linux kernel from 2.6.18 to 2.6.20 seems to have a problem in st (tape) drive support. Bugzilla error report: http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7919. I have applied the patch provided in the kernel BTS to 2.6.18.5 and made some tests. Tape drive is working with this patch. It would be nice to apply/backport this patch to the Debian Etch kernel.
