Hello, I had some trouble with my tape drive and the Debian Etch kernel 2.6.18+5. I have found the solution for the problem in the linux kernel bugzilla: http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7919 It would be great to apply (backport) the patch to the Debian Etch kernel - otherwise using a tape drive will fail. I have made some tests with the patch and applied it on the 2.6.18 source - everything is working fine.
