Bug#405270: systems hangs during boot with radio kill switch on
Hi,
I'd like to report that I have the same issue : I have a Dell Latitude
D420 featuring an Intel 3945ABG card, and a "radio kill switch". When
booting with the switch on (i.e. radio off) the system hangs during the
boot sequence, somewhat between /etc/init.d/ipw3945d (most likely there)
and /etc/init.d/networking. With radio on it starts OK.
This has been observed with various versions of ipw3945 packages in
testing/unstable. Currently I have :
ii firmware-ipw3945 0.3
ii ipw3945-modules-2.6.18-3-686 2.6.18+1.1.3-3 (compiled with m-a)
ii ipw3945-modules-2.6.18-4-686 2.6.18+1.1.3-4 (from contrib)
ii ipw3945-source 1.1.3-3
ii ipw3945d 1.7.22-4
and I tried with the official kernels :
ii linux-image-2.6.18-3-686 2.6.18-7
ii linux-image-2.6.18-4-686 2.6.18.dfsg.1-10
(I had the same bug with older 2.6.17, I have a self-compiled 2.6.20 at
hand but module-assistant fails to build ipw3945 for it...)
Best regards,
Jeremie
