I send attached the dmesg's output, I was able to install Sarge with the
2.4.27 
linux kernel, but no one of the 2.6 debian's kernel I've tried detect
the CD-ROM
(2.6.12 and 2.6.13, both from Sid).

I could send more information if necessary.

this bug is no longer present as upstream has enabled libata.
inefficient bug hoarding, kicking.
