Bug#381351: initramfs-tools: ide-disk/specific ide modules not loaded and vgchange -ay fails using lvm2

Hello all,

I just did a bit of investigation into a slimilar issue - it seems that 
the image created by initramfs-tools doesn't work with LVM if mdadm is 
not installed. Previously mdadm was not a dependancy to use LVM with 
initrd, but examining the top of:
    /usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/local-top/lvm

Shows the dependancies are "mdadm mdrun lvm2".  Perhaps mdadm should be 
a Recommend of initramfs-tools, and a note added that if using LVM and 
initramfs-tools, then mdadm is required???
