Hi Martin,
currently I have one disk without any PV and a second disk with PVs. The
first disk only have one large partition, used for the whole system,
while the second one is a spare disk used with LVM.
I wish to change the first disk partition in order to add a second
partition to be used as PV for LVM, so I need to reboot in single user
and read only mode in order to use parted and resize that partition.
But when I boot in single user, the disk is already mounted rw. I even
booted with init=/bin/bash and found the partition mounted rw, so parted
refuse to resize it. Once booted with init=/bin/bash, I typed the
command "mount -o ro,remount /" and this command did not fail, but it
also did not change the file system :-(
So, if you know how to boot and remount the root file system ro, then I
will test this bug very soon, otherwise I need one week to collect an
external SCSI disk.
Thanks,
Giuseppe
