Kernels I've known to work:
* stable's 2.6.18-5
* testing's previous 2.6.18 kernel (I do not remember the version; and I
uninstalled it before noticing this problem with testing's newer 2.6.21)
Kernels I've tried that do not work:
* sid's 2.6.22-2
* trunk 2.6.23-rc5 from buildserver.net
Perhaps I should have not reported it against only testing's 2.6.21-2...
