The cpu frequency scailing does not work on the Toshiba Satellite M30-261 because the available frequencies for
the Pentium M is only 600 MHz. The frequency range goes from 600 up to 1500 MHz.
Output from /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scailing_available_frequencies
600000
I tried various options from the kernel. The kernel parameters CONFIG_X86_SPEEDSTEP_CENTRINO_ACPI = yes,
CONFIG_X86_SPEEDSTEP_CENTRINO_TABLE = yes and also compiling them as a module and instering with `modprobe'
give not the expecting results.
The kernel 2.6.8-2-686 works correct. And with the different governors the frequency of the cpu can be changed.
The neccessary moduls are loaded correct.
