While using a Seagate 400GB external hard drive, invariably the system locks 
up in some way I can't recover without a reboot sooner or later.  For the 
first time ever I got kernel output from it this time...

also the new firewire stack got enabled for 2.6.22,
if you can find troubles against it please report in a new bug report.
