fix the userspace, push upstream to do it.

no that is not an option.
the new firewire stack has seen fine fixes upstream and will be
shipped for the next release.
the old stack had to many shortcomings that caused the rewrite!

you need to adapt the userspace, it is early enough in the
release cycle.
