2.6.22-rc3 doesn't show the problem, while it is present in 2.6.21.
Where did you check the above code ? I guess it is 2.6.22-rc3, since
2.6.21 has :
wrapper :=$(srctree)/$(src)/wrapper
wrapperbits := $(extra-y) $(addprefix $(obj)/,addnote hack-coff mktree)
But then, 2.6.21 is the sid kernel, thus making the original severity
justified.
