Bug#417333: linux-image-2.6.18-4-686: kernel panic in tcp_tso_segment on Dell PE650

Package: linux-image-2.6.18-4-686
Version: 2.6.18.dfsg.1-12
Severity: important

On a Dell PowerEdge 650 server, I got kernel panics with testing kernel 2.6.18.dfsg.1-11.

I copied the output displayed on the console, which gives something like this :

 [<.......>] dst_output
 [<.......>] ip_queue_xmit
 [<.......>] dst_output
 [<.......>] tcp_transmit_skb
 [<.......>] tcp_push_one
 [<.......>] tcp_sendmsg
 [<.......>] inet_sendmsg
 [<.......>] do_sock_write
 [<.......>] sock_writev
 [<.......>] do_wp_page
 [<.......>] __handle_mm_fault
 [<.......>] autoremove_wake_function
 [<.......>] __next_cpu
 [<.......>] sock_writev
 [<.......>] do_readv_writev
 [<.......>] vfs_writev
 [<.......>] sys_writev
 [<.......>] sysenter_past_esp
Code: ....
EIP: [<c024c735>] tcp_tso_segment ...
<0>Kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal exception in interrupt

Looking for kernel + panic + tcp_tso_segment + sysenter_past_esp on google, I found a bug report with similar errors (#391955), which seems to happen on a different system but with a network e1000 driver too... dunno if this is related to the same problem or not :(

FYI here's the hardware :

Hope this helps.

Now, I'm running latest as of today (2.6.18.dfsg.1-12) and will pray for not getting the same issue again.

Best regards,
