Bug#265747: cdrecord hangs with cyberdrive cw088d
I am still getting the problem.
I have
CDR_NODMATEST=true
in /etc/environment
The drive reads CDs and DVDs all right.
I insert a blank CD-R disk in the drive.
I run:
wodim dev=/dev/cdrw /home/john/debian-testing-i386-CD-1.iso
in a terminal and I get:
wodim: No write mode specified.
wodim: Asuming -tao mode.
wodim: Future versions of wodim may have different drive dependent defaults.
Error trying to open /dev/cdrw exclusively (Device or resource busy)... retrying
in 1 second.
Device type : Removable CD-ROM
Version : 0
Response Format: 1
Vendor_info : 'SAMSUNG '
Identification : 'CDRW/DVD SM-308B'
Revision : 'M002'
Device seems to be: Generic mmc2 DVD-ROM.
Using generic SCSI-3/mmc CD-R/CD-RW driver (mmc_cdr).
Driver flags : MMC-2 SWABAUDIO
Supported modes: TAO PACKET SAO SAO/R96R RAW/R16 RAW/R96R
Then it hangs.

For ever - in fact this interferes with the normal shut down and I have to use
ctr-alt-del in a terminal.
