Bug#413377: linux-image-2.6.18: on upgrade get grub priority even if not previously selected

Package: linux-image-2.6.18
Severity: normal

After upgrade from 2.6.18-3 to 2.6.18-4 grub select this new kernel for boot,
even if previously default was set to a non-linux partition.
I noticed the problem also on another installation.
It wopuld be nice that, if the default kernel is not the one that is
upgraded, it would remain as a default.
(so, if my default is the fifth on the list, adding a new one should keep
that one as the default, not the freshly installed one. the automatic update
of grub should occour only if the new one is an update for the one that is
 the current default)
